This programme lasts 2 years. International students must attend regularly and punctually for a minimum of 15 hours a week in class, as per UKBA / UKVI / Home Office requirements for Tier 4 students.
The BTEC Level 5 HND in Business is on the QCF framework and regulated by Ofqual. It is a qualification worth a minimum of 240 credits.
This HND programme provides students with the background knowledge and skills desired in a number of junior and middle management roles. Students completing the HND in Business can progress on to a top-up Degree programme at a number of universities and higher education colleges. Entry requirements may vary between universities and colleges, so we advise you to check with your preferred university or college before starting the programme with us.
Assignment briefs are internally set by the College and externally checked / verified by Pearson. Assignments can include analysis of case studies, undertaking research projects or extended essays and presentations. Completed assignments are then internally verified / checked and then externally verified / checked by Pearson. In order to pass a unit, all assessment criteria for that unit must be achieved by the student. Where students have met all the task requirements, they can be awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade for a unit. The overall grade will be influenced by the number of pass, merit and distinction grades achieved in units and the level of the units.
• A BTEC National, Advanced GNVQ or AVCE in Business or in a related subject (eg Tourism, Hospitality and Catering) – or equivalent international qualification
• At least one GCE A Level pass or Level 3 qualification of an appropriate size in a relevant subject.
• English at CEFR Level B1 / IELTS 5.5 or above, certificated by an awarding organisation currently recognised by UKBA / UKVI / Home Office as authorised to issue these qualifications.
• Appropriate work experience in the Business field
The Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Business programme provides much of the underpinning knowledge and skills needed for a junior or middle management position in an organisation, should students intend to progress into employment in their country of domicile. Students can also progress on to a Top-up Degree programme at many universities and colleges.
